My story
I love my IPAD. It combines the magic of the glass, technology and unlimited content. I spent hours trying to develop a database form on my IPAD at work. At first, it was a dull ache that caused me to use a different finger, then it became a hypersensitivity of my index finger. I couldn't even play my favorite games.
The tapping and swiping was irritating my finger joint especially with games requiring speed. Gorilla glass, the interface surface for most tablet computers, is super strong and dense to protect the device, not our hands.
After 13 Sculpteo prototypes and a hacker's crash course in industrial design for injection molding, I have a minimalist touchscreen accessory to bring your daily interactions with glass. It is carefully designed to support the ligamentous, joint and nerve tissues of your distal finger joint and fingerpad.
We’re hyper conscious of wear and tear in our daily life. We buy covers for our phones so they don’t scratch, cases for our computers so they don’t break. Why not support the health of our joints and fingers while also giving them a performance boost.
As an orthopedic physical therapist, I know repetitive stress injuries are difficult to treat. The TAPTOOL will help those who need to give their bodies a rest while still participating in work or leisure activities with their touchscreen devices.
